Hello Everyone!
I am sure you could hear crickets chirping over here on Diamonds or Pearls this past month, and we apologize for that, but we have been busy contemplating the future of our site. We have truly enjoyed sharing with you all the things we love and our sisterly bond, but it has taken a tremendous amount of work and time to keep the content coming. I am sad to say, but Keli has decided to step down from the blog for a while and focus on more important things “family.” She will hopefully still join us for a few home tours or make an appearance in a future post.
Future of Diamonds or Pearls
And then there was one…haha! If you are new here, welcome to the blog! My name is Michelle, and I am the person behind Diamonds or Pearls by MW. I have lots of plans for the blog and look forward to focusing more on Home Decor! Of course, Entertaining, and a few lifestyle posts will still be added to the blog as well. The house tours will continue, as they are one of my favorites things we have done on the blog to date. I will also be opening my E-Design business later this year offering a couple of different package deals for my clients. I am very excited about this and will share more at a later date.
About Me & My Design Philosophy
Growing up in a household with a very stylish & creative mom, I have always had a love for Interior Design and anything girly. I am always dreaming up my next decorating project and looking for ways to incorporate pretty much anything that brings extra beauty to my life. I feel that it is important to make home a reflection of yourself and for it to tell your story. Life is a journey and mine is forever changing.
My design philosophy is to mix and blend the things you love that make your home a reflection of you. It is essential to enjoy the space you live in and to surround yourself with all the things that bring happiness to your life. It doesn’t matter what is on trend, just so you love it and it reflects your personality. I have always felt like beautiful design doesn’t have to break the bank and have always enjoyed the challenge of creating a livable and elegant space for my clients with a budget in mind.
Spring Refreshes on my Virginia Home
As excited as I was about finally getting to enjoy winter after two years of living in Hawaii, I honestly can’t wait for warmer weather. I am slowly getting my home ready for Spring this year, and I am sure it is because of this ever-changing weather pattern we are having in Virginia.
I have only purchased a few new items recently to freshen up my spaces for Spring and have instead moved things around in my home and used them in different ways. That way, I don’t spend much money, and it makes all of my old items feel like new. 🙂 Here are a few Spring touches I have made to my home to date.
1.Pillows
I added these adorable pillows from H&M in my living room. Who knew they sold pillow covers?? Not me. One of my favorite bloggers, “Nesting with Grace” mentioned that she bought these pillows for her kitchen banquette. My curiosity got the best of me, and I ordered them immediately. To my surprise, I loved them right away! I inserted a feather pillow I already owned, and I feel like it gave it a more expensive look. There is nothing more exciting to me than finding a great buy and loving the outcome. To shop this pillow casing click HERE.
SCROLL & TAP TO SHOP
(I have added similar items to replace mine that are sold out)
2.Spring Flowers
I have a favorite nursery I frequent here in Northern VA called Merrifield Garden Center. They hands down have the most beautiful fake flowers I have ever seen. I bought a few cherry blossoms and cute little yellow flowers to mix with my twigs. I think they add the perfect touch of spring to this space and I didn’t spend much doing it.
3. New Paint color for Study
Here is a sneak peek of my new paint color in my study, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. It is called Outer Space by Sherwin Williams, and it adds the perfect coziness I was looking for this room. Reveal coming soon!
Now, I need to start my spring cleaning! Perhaps I will wait a few more weeks…
Thanks again for following along. I love this community we have built and hope you feel like this is a place that we can become friends, get inspired together, and you can look forward to visiting.
