Hello! My name is Linda Hites (aka Mrs. Clause), and I am the mother of the three girls who started Diamonds or Pearls blog. I anticipate the coming of Christmas all year long because it’s my favorite season. It means time with family and good friends. I truly love to go all out with decorations, so our home looks warm and cozy for our guests. In my opinion you can never have enough Christmas cheer spread throughout your home. As my family would tell you, not a room in my house goes untrimmed. I believe the outside should give you that magical feeling and make you want to go in and spend some time. Missouri winters can get quite chilly, so please come on in and enjoy.
Nothing says welcome like a beautiful entryway with fresh garland, a winter scented candle, and “Walking in a Winter Wonderland” playing in the background. It instantly says the holidays are here!
The gathering of family and friends in the dining room makes my heart so happy. The table is set with antique silver, my collection of friendly village china, and my favorite plaid ribbon. My tree is adorned with teacups, antique pictures of our family, and pieces of old silver. This tree represents family of past and present, and is a great conversation starter.

My large black clock that plays “Westminster Chime” reminds me of the clock in Mr.Scrooges office.
The great room is dressed for the season with years of family memories and cherished collections. Fresh holly brings the outdoors in and makes the room more festive. My ten foot tree is decorated with glass ornaments, byers choice carolers, and fresh magnolia leaves to give it that English feel. It reminds me of something right out of “A Christmas Carol”.

This room is where everything happens and is decorated the most simple of all the rooms with greenery and striped ribbon. The smell of cookies baking and sound of laughter are sure to make everyone want to gather in this space.

Hello Linda, I’m very happy to finally meet you. You have a lovely home, so elegant and inviting. This is just beautiful and a great inspiration for Christmas. So much attention to details and tea cups in a Xmas tree, never heard of that but it’s all those personal notes that makes your decor so attractive. One can never overdo it at Christmas. We’ve gone on a lot of shopping trips to get this Christmas look. How much fun buying ribbon , talking and having lunch. I’m sure we will do many more trips in our life.
