A Fun & Easy Lanai Tea Party!
Welcome to my rainy day lanai Tea party! In Hawaii, space is at a premium, so the inside decoration overflows into the outside spaces. Here I learned to focus just as much decorating outside areas and recommend everyone takes that approach. Outside is the perfect place to be bold and experimental with color and patterns.
The Cart
The primary focus of my party was the cart that I bought at Target and painted to add my own personal touch. To blend the old and new, I used an assortment of dishes and antiques to add a little character and charm.
Favorite Pieces for Tea Party
Two of my favorite pieces on the cart are the “Lag Screws” box that’s the perfect size for teabags and antique silver spoons, both of which were found antiquing in Missouri. I’m also in love with the large striped bowl I found at Target.
And remember, just because you are hosting doesn’t mean you have to slave away in the kitchen for hours! I believe food is all about the presentation and mixing colors, tastes, sweets, and healthy snacks will delight all of your guests both visually and tastefully. Just adding a little pineapple to my water was the perfect “Aloha” touch.
Keeping it simple and sophisticated will allow you to relax and your guests to enjoy the space.
For parties or just a little get together with a friend, carts are a practical, fun, and easy way to personalize any space and make it feel special for your guests. I look forward to hearing about your next outdoor tea party.
I have compiled a list of some of my favorite Target bar carts. Just click on the picture and shop. 🙂
