Welcome to my Classic Colorful Christmas in my Colorado home. My name is Kristen and I am one of the sisters that started Diamonds or Pearls blog. As you can see, we absolutely love Christmas. It has always been such a magical time for our family. As little kids we would put on a Christmas play at our grandparents, decorate the freshly cut tree with homemade ornaments, and then we would eagerly await for Santa to arrive. It is still my fondest memory of Christmas from when I was little girl. My husband and I have carried on those family traditions with our girls since they hold such a special place in my heart.
You will find that my home is relaxed, kid friendly, and busy around the holidays. So please come on in, I would love to show you around.
When walking into my home you will see fresh cut wreaths on every mirror. I love having the smell of pine trees and cinnamon to welcome our guests.
This is our main area for hosting guests. During Christmas we change up pillows and centerpieces as an easy way to add a festive touch to this space.

Traditions play a huge part in getting ready for the season. Our daughters are still young, so it’s fun for them to decorate the tree with their collection of ornaments.

One of our newest traditions is wrapping Christmas books and numbering them for a nightly treat. The girls get so excited for this and take turns opening one every night.

We love our grand desk and use it quite often. Having simple decor keeps it festive and functional. Of course, Princess Sparkle has already made her grand debut.
The dining room decor was kept simple and traditional. I love using fresh garland and berries to add the perfect pop of color. On our buffet there is a little sparkle to showcase my sweet treats for the evening.
