Better late than never! I am so busy with a lot of exciting changes going on in my life that I am a little late on posting my favorites new things from April.
I love to shop but, believe it or not, I don’t seem to do it as much as I would like. When I do get to shop, I am usually on a mission for something specific and want to make sure I get the best price. I embody the mantra of quality over quantity and look to find the best possible deals for the highest quality items. While I may spend a little more upfront, I hope to save more in the long run with worthwhile goods. When I find a gem, I always turn over the specifics to Keli because she is my go-to person to find me a better price on something I am hunting. She can honestly find the best deals!
So when I post my favorites, it is usually something that I use for a while, research until the perfect product was found or something I had my eyes on for a while for the best deal.

Hourglass Products: No Phthalates, No Parabens, No PVC, No BPA
[easy-image-collage id=7460]
I recently started using Hourglass products and think I have finally found a brand I will stick with for a while. I have VERY sensitive combination skin and have so much trouble finding makeup that I love.
Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick
I had never been a fan of foundation sticks in the past but, with a little persuasion from the sales associate, I was willing to give it a try. I just love how this foundation glides on and stays in place after a full day of being in the Hawaiian heat. It is ideal for a full coverage and combination skin.
Veil Mineral Primer
The Veil Mineral Primer is an oil free primer that goes on silky and leaves my skin feeling very smooth. I can’t believe I never used a primer in the past but I’m sure glad I found this.
Hourglass Bronzer
I didn’t think I would ever find a bronzer I liked more than Becca. This bronzer leaves my skin looking sun-kissed and it goes on so nicely.
BeautyCounter Products
BeautyCounter – Charcoal Cleansing Bar
I couldn’t find a product to help with the inflammation and irritation my skin has had since being diagnosed with Lyme’s Disease three years ago until Beautycounter. A family member introduced me to Claire Kitchen, a Beautycounter consultant and asked me to try some products. I was a little reluctant at first because of the problems I have had with my skin but I was also so desperate to find something that would work.
After reading numerous fantastic reviews and trying samples from Claire, I decided to order the charcoal cleansing bar. I can’t begin to tell you the difference it has made in my skin. My skin has almost completely cleared up, my pores have gotten smaller, and it feels so much smoother after only a month. I honestly can’t believe it! 🙂
The company’s mission is to get safer products into the hands of everyone. Previously, I didn’t pay attention to the labels of the products I was putting on my face. I am slowly trying to make a difference in my household and truly think the safer products changed my skin.
I plan to keep adding more of the Beautycounter products to my daily regimen.

Sanuk Women’s Yoga Mat Flip-Flop
Living in Hawaii, I wear flip flops almost daily and love this brand. With summer just around the corner I thought I would share. They are made with a yoga mat foot bed and are the comfiest flip-flops you will put on your feet. They also come in so many great colors, but I always seem to gravitate towards black.
“Now onto the new exciting news”
Keli has sold her New Jersey home and will soon be relocating to northern VA with her family. She will miss her adorable cottage but is excited about all of the new changes that come with a move. The most exciting part of the whole move for her is the first time in years we will be living in the same area. Yes, my family and I are relocating back to Northern VA too. Keli and I are so excited to be living close to one another again!!! We look forward to being able to grow our blog side by side and coming up with lots of new content for our readers.
I loved living in Northern Virginia before we moved to Hawaii. The fantastic antique stores, beautiful historic homes, and excellent restaurants were just a few reason why! I can’t wait to be surrounded by so much decorating inspiration and it’s always exciting getting to decorate a new home.
On an entirely separate note, I wanted to wish my furbaby a Happy 12th Birthday! He is the sweetest, gentlest, and most handsome dog and brings so much joy to our little family!
Thanks again for supporting Diamonds or Pearls. We have enjoyed sharing with you all and getting inspired together.
Keli and I look forward to having you follow along on our new adventure and we can’t wait to see each other in VA in July.
