Traditional with a Modern Twist Home Office Reveal
After years of using the dining room table as my workspace, I am so excited to be showing you my home office reveal today. I have been sharing many sneak peeks without trying to give away too much, but today I have all the deets on this space.
When planning out the design aesthetic for my office, I wanted it to most importantly be “functional,” yet cozy & pretty. It is the first room to the left that you see when you walk into my home, and I wanted it to instantly be inviting. The warm color (Outerspace by Sherwin Williams) was a perfect choice, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.
This was a picture of the room when we were looking at our home. I was instantly envisioning a design plan where I would want to spend many hours in this space.
Months after living in our home, this is my home office today!
When designing a room, I always find that one inspiration piece that sets the mood for my space. For the home office, it was this rug! I instantly knew I wanted to go with different shades of gray with a few touches of blue.
Choosing the perfect comfortable chair was a must! Since I work from home and spend a lot of my days at this desk, I didn’t mind to splurge on a beautiful chair. This one I found at Restoration Hardware, and it is one of my favorite items in this room. I love the modern look of it against some of my more traditional pieces.
TIP: To give a desktop a more visually appealing look, hide the screen with a pretty vase of flowers or topiary.
I love having a place for all of my essential office stuff. This bookshelf from Restoration Hardware is the perfect spot for housing many of those items.
I have always wanted beautiful sconces on my walls but knew it would be an enormous job to tackle and honestly just never even considered adding them to any of my design plans. That was until I came across the magic light trick by Nesting With Grace. I now want to hang sconces all over my home!
I sewed all the curtains for my home and wrote a post all about the process! Curtain Panels are so easy to make; it takes a little patience and measuring twice before cutting your fabric! If I can make them, I know you can too! I also show you the cheat way that I hang them to give the curtain panel a pleated look.
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my home office reveal!
