Welcome to my Christmas Farmhouse! My name is Cindy, and I live in a small town in Missouri. My home is right in the middle of our small town but is filled with farmhouse decor.
As a little girl, I loved visiting my grandparent’s farm. I would spend every weekend and summer vacation running around with my sister and cousins on their farm. My grandparent’s home was simple but always had that homey feel. This is what I try to portray in our house, simple and comfortable, but with a small amount of modern. So, don’t be surprised when you see old windows & doors mixed with architectural pieces throughout our home. I love to place the old and new together to make unique pieces.
As you enter our home, my new “Welcome Home” sign from Sarah at Works of Heart, has a touch of Christmas but can be used throughout the winter season. I absolutely love how this pops with the color of our home.
We have a tiny entryway in our 1928 home, but I placed a small tree with a winter theme right next to the door.
As you walk farther, I have an old door with the cutest “Merry and Bright” sign draped with pine garland. My favorite is the little red truck that is carrying a Christmas tree which matches the pillow.
On the first shiplap wall you see as you walk into our home, is a framed letter to Santa. My friend asked me, why I signed the letter with the name Gracie. My Grandmother’s middle name was Grace. Her mother, my great-grandmother, called her Gracie when she was a little girl. When my daughter was born in 1989, I surprised my grandmother by using Grace as my daughter’s middle name. So the name Gracie has a few special memories tied to it.
My favorite thing in our home is this fireplace. I believe it is the reason I enjoy decorating so much!
I wanted a small amount of red, so I made these red ticking stockings to hang.
I’ve used some old windows to display this beautiful Christmas Tree sign along with small trees and greenery. I love the way it looks against the shiplap!
Of course, right next to the fireplace is our Aspen Fir Christmas tree that is decorated with a simple red ribbon and some wooden beads. Most of the ornaments on the tree have been given to us or handmade. Last year, I added the wooden hearts which I put our family names on them. This year I placed some photographs in the tree.
My great niece, Jozlyn has placed the star on top of our tree since she has been two years old and this year wasn’t any different now that’s she seven!
This photo is a picture of my grandparents, Louis and Edith Grace Meyer.
The walls in the dining room are shiplap, which my husband put up for me about a year ago. The shiplap reminds me so much of my grandparents back porch we played in as children. It’s always so bright in the dining room with the sun
bouncing off the white shiplap.
In the dining room, I’ve used a flocked tree this year with green plaid ribbon, dark green ornaments, and pine cone ornaments. It goes perfectly with my simple rustic place settings, little white village, and bottle brush trees placed on our farm table my father made me.
The corner holds an old green cabinet I bought at an antique store many years ago. I placed greenery and trees to tie it together with my white deer mounted on stained pallet boards.
I placed this simple greenery on an old green shutter with some white dishes placed around it for a quick holiday display.
Our bedroom is very simply decorated. One more wall of shiplap shows off the bed my father made me and an old window with embroidery hoops I wrapped with greenery and red berries.
The embroidery hoops are a reminder of the things my grandmother made through her years. She embroidered many pillowcases, then added the most beautiful tatting to them.
My grandmother also made this red and white quilt for me when I was a little girl. She made every one of her grandchildren a quilt by hand. Mine is a little worn and tattered, but it means the world to me.
The Christmas tree in our bedroom is just a plain little tree with small muted-colored ornaments and twinkling lights.
No farmhouse is complete without a sliding barn door. My husband painted all the doors black this past year. It was the best thing we have done. I love the way all the wreaths pop on the black doors!

Tomorrow on the “Deck the Halls” Christmas tour, Kellie Grant will be inviting us into her adorable Patriotic Farmhouse home at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. Kellie has such a talent for styling every area of her home and mixing unique pieces that make great conversation pieces. Being a military family she does a fantastic job blending the patriotic theme with her farmhouse decor. Be sure to check it out!
