Don’t we all have those little projects we would like to accomplish around the house but never feel like we have time to do. Just keeping up with the day to day tasks is hard enough. Well, I thought it would be fun to create a series called “Small Projects.” Each week for the month of November, we have to complete one of our small tasks. My first one is organzing my dreadful Hall closet. It’s not Pinterest picture perfect, but it feels 100% better to me.
Linen Closet Organization
Organizing a linen closet can be a dreadful task, but with just a few simple steps, you can achieve it in no time.
I have needed to declutter this linen closet for quite some time and it was just too easy to keep ignoring the mess behind the closed door.
Sort & Organize:
I set aside a few hours and finally sorted through the pile of blankets we never use and sheets we were holding onto for some reason (Like twin sheets and we don’t even own a twin bed anymore). I just pulled everything out and went to town!!!!.
Fold and Place:
I made a quick plan on placement and then arranged everything in an order that made sense to me. This closet consists of sheets, comforters/blankets, beach towels, and toilet paper.
I do plan to utilize the door with an over the door ironing caddy! Like this one HERE. I could not bear to show you the picture of our ironing board; we are in desperate need of a new one…hahaha!
Roll & Tie Bulky Bedding:
A great way to save space with the bulkier bedding, roll it up, and then tie it with a pretty ribbon. I used a leftover Christmas ribbon I had from one of my trees last year.
You can view some of my favorite ribbon I purchased from Amazon HERE.
Use Baskets & Label:
I found these cute wooden chalkboard frames (similar HERE) about a year ago at Target and planned to use them on a tablescape. I am always looking for new ways to use items I already own, and since that tablescape never happened, this was a perfect choice. Using a strong doubled sided tape, I was able to stick them to the basket. Now, I know which bedding is in each basket without having to pull each one out to peek inside.
It feels so good to have FINALLY tackled this project I’ve been putting off forever! It’s crazy to think it only took me a couple of days and a couple of hours!
I hope you will join me next week by making a list of small projects you need to accomplish and we can continue to keep each other motivated this month.
