Hello! Welcome to my cozy house. My name is Lauren and I’m very happy to give you a tour. When I was a little girl, my Mom and Grandma always took me with them to antique stores and boutiques where I got to see all kinds of amazing Christmas trees and decorations. They both made Christmas such a magical time of the year for me as a child so now I want my little boy to have those same feelings when he sees our decorations put up.
I just had my front door painted blue this year and I wasn’t sure if I’d like it with my Christmas decor, but I love the change.
Ribbon is always what I shop for the most and I love using it to dress up plain greenery. The birch ribbon gives me that rustic winter look that I want.
My window box is emptied when fall is over so it’s easy to add garland and some oversized ornaments to make it festive.
I have always been drawn to all things plaid, tartan, or check so I’m sure the first thing one would notice upon entering my house is the bright, red bench. I had a slipcover made for it in a different fabric for when the holidays are over.
I never know what to do with this big plant ledge in my entry in the off-season, but for Christmas, it gets a forest of lit trees, Santa, Mrs. Claus, and a reindeer that my Mom handed down to me.

My most prized Christmas decoration is the cross-stitched church that I watched my Grandma make while sitting beside her. Nobody loved Christmas more than her so I feel her spirit when I walk past this piece.
The living room is where we spend most of our family time together so that’s where we put the tree. My tree was inspired by all of our trips to Colorado and ski lodge decor.

I like a comfy couch with LOTS of throw pillows. Don’t be afraid to mix your plaids and patterns.
Holiday family pictures scatter the TV console.
We usually host a Christmas morning brunch so the table has festive yet casual place settings.
I have a slight obsession with woody cars like in my favorite holiday movie, Christmas Vacation.
It’s just not Christmas without a little baking.
These “Over the Rim Cookies” are great to serve to guests along with hot chocolate or coffee. You can find these adorable cookie cutters HERE.
I place seasonal pillows on our built-in bench because Sloan likes to watch his Dad cook.
Much fun was had decking my halls for Diamonds or Pearls! Through all the chaos of this busy season, I hope you take the time to sip your coffee before everyone else wakes up and enjoy the beauty of a winter morning and the glowing lights of your Christmas tree. I hope the decorations you hang bring you the nostalgia of Christmases past and the excitement of the Christmas mornings to come.
Tomorrow on the tour, Charlotte Harris will be welcoming us into her beautiful home. She has always stayed true to her home’s design when decorating, even for Christmas. Every room is an elegant showcase filled with heirlooms and beautiful Christmas touches. You don’t want to miss it!
