Entertaining with a High Tea can be a great excuse to get dressed up and a unique way to gather with girlfriends.
While vacationing in Hong Kong, I experienced my first High Tea. Traditionally, High Teas are known to be a little stuffy, but that wasn’t my experience at all. It was relaxing and simple and I knew I could replicate a similar atmosphere with friends.
Our High Tea Menu:
Cucumber Sandwiches
Ham & Cream Cheese Sandwiches
Short Bread Cookies with Raspberry Thumbprints
Miniature Wedding Cookies
Vanilla Cupcakes
Dream-sickle Scones
We had a great selection of tea with milk, honey, and lemon slices to add for the perfect cup of tea.
Tips:
Keep it simple and purchase store-bought treats.
The guest list should be small and intimate.
Set the table with some of your favorite pieces. It’s an excellent excuse to use the “special occasion” stuff.
Cut some fresh flowers from your garden or purchase a bundle from the local market.
Have lots of options in the tea selection and the snacks.
