Fun & Relaxing Casual Beach Grill Out
Here in Hawaii, one of my family’s favorite things to do is to go to the beach in the evening, have a beach grill out, watch a beautiful sunset, and do some star gazing.
With summer approaching and many people planning vacations, I thought this would be a perfect time to share with you how we put together our casual beach grill out. This way when you head to the beach this summer, you will have an easy guide on the few things you need to bring. While not inclusive, our list of necessities is quite small and very simple.
Folding chairs, table, & Battery Operated Lantern
We love our Lafuma chairs but recently noticed they stopped making this particular style. We are in need of updates, so I gathered some other styles that we like below. Any small table will do, and we never travel without our Black Diamond Battery Operated Lantern. It is the perfect amount of light for our beach card games.

Look at this fantastic view!
Oversized Straw Tote
This oversized straw tote is fantastic and it holds my towels, lotion, keys, and sweatshirts for the chilly evening. It is nice keeping everything in one tote rather than multiple bags.

Our Go-To Menu:
Hamburgers
Chicken & Bacon Kabobs
Shrimp Kabobs
Chips & Salsa
Fresh Pineapple
Smores
We always prepare everything ahead of time at home and then, once we get to the beach, all we have to do is throw it on the grill. It makes for a more relaxing evening.
My husband swears by this Chimney Starter! With a match, a few wadded up newspaper pages, and about 15 minutes, the chimney starter gets all of the coals hot without lighter fluid and keeps any residual taste of lighter fluid out of our food.
If you missed my post on “How To Make A Pineapple Boat-5 easy steps”, click here. This is an excellent way to serve the pineapple without using a plate and it is super easy.
Beach Toys & balls
Don’t forget to pack the beach toys! This is a must every time we head to the beach and they always entertain the kids for hours. My son builds sandcastles and then uses the buckets to hunt for beach treasures. We have quite the collection of beautiful sea glass and sea shells. It is always a competition to see who can find the most unique pieces.
After dinner, we usually play soccer or football right before sunset. We have to burn those calories for s’mores later on. 🙂
Sunsets in Hawaii are incredible, serene, and breathtaking! They are postcard worthy and amazing to see.
Cards, S’mores, and watching the sunset!

While watching the sunset, the boys build a fire so we can relax and start making s’mores.
I hope you enjoyed my guide to a casual beach grill out. The most important thing to remember is to keep it simple and enjoy your family time.
Have fun at the beach!
