I have always felt the magic of Christmas ever since I was a little girl. The twinkling lights, the smell of a cedar Christmas tree, hot cocoa, peppermint sticks and the extra kindness of people when the season arrives. It all makes me feel so hopeful. Hello, my name is Paula. I am thrilled once again to be on the Diamonds or Pearls blog for their First Annual Christmas Tour. So please come on in to see how we celebrate the holidays in our home.
I am a traditionalist at heart and our home reflects that. When you step up to the front door you will be greeted with a wreath that has traditional red ribbon, mixed with plaid and black & white check.

In the living room the first thing you see is our family tree. I love the visual of all the white lights and red balls; the ornaments all hold a special memory. That is what makes the holidays so special, it gives you time to reflect.

Another favorite of mine is mercury glass. This year it took center stage on our mantel along with greenery & red berries. Many of the pieces have been given to me as gifts and I love getting them out every year.
Our dining room tablescape is a natural look, it shows my love of white dinnerware. I mixed a black & white toile Spode pattern that I purchased at an antique store years ago. I also used simple linen napkins and mercury balls. You can never have too much silver, right?

Byers Choice Carolers are tucked into the bannister greenery. Their sweet faces make me want to smile right back at them. Again, gifts from dear friends has afforded me quite a collection. I have them disbursed throughout our home.
The kitchen is where everyone wants to gather, our home is no different. It also has the holiday touch too. Linda Hites & I found these wire plate racks on one of our many shopping trips and I love them! The Christmas plates were a gift from her, so they are proudly displayed among the white dishes.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how we decorate for the holidays. My wish for you is to have a Very Merry Christmas & a Happy Healthy New Year. Next up on the tour on Wednesday is Kristen’s Colorado home.
