Hello! Thank you for joining us during our 2016 First Annual Fall Home Decor Tour. We are so excited about this tour and dedicate it to our loving Aunt Judy.
My name is Michelle and I am one of the three sisters who started Diamonds or Pearls blog. Welcome to my home in Hawaii. It may still be warm outside, but once you step inside you will sense fall is around the corner. I always have a candle burning, soup on the stove, and the air turned down. So come on in, grab some coffee, and a pumpkin muffin. Eagan and I can’t wait to show you around!
It’s crazy to think I live in a warm climate year round when my favorite time of year is Fall & Winter. I definitely don’t let the warmer weather stop me from pretending there is fall crispness is in the air. I tend to decorate more neutral and bring in pops of color through accessories and flowers. I thought these flowers were perfect for fall in Hawaii.
I kept my fall decor simple this year and let my tulip arrangement make the big statement for my tablescape. I also incorporated natural elements like sticks, pinecones, and seagrass. It is a cheap way to decorate for this time of year and it brings the outdoors in.
My Favorite Fall Candle
I always have a candle burning and love how it instantly makes my home smell like I have been baking all day. My favorite this year is Marshmallow Fireside from Bath & Body Works.
I found the cute white pumpkins at HomeGoods and thought they were perfect for my tablescape. The great thing about buying wood and glass pumpkins, you can use them year after year.
Afghans are perfect for this time of year for cozying up on cool autumn nights. I love plaid and found this neutral one at Restoration Hardware.
My Siberian Husky Eagan loves to follow me around and is never 5 feet away from me. Can you spot him?
I found this cute printable for my table HERE. A printable is a great way to add a personal touch to a tablescape.
There is something about a copper mug that reminds me of this time of year.
Seasonal fruit adds a nice touch of color to my table while still keeping everything very simple.
Pumpkin Muffin Recipe
I switched up my pumpkin muffin recipe with a new one I found on Pinterest. These are amazing! You will have to give this recipe a try… YUM! Recipe HERE.
I couldn’t resist! I had to snap a photo of my handsome Eagan. It is really hard to get photos without him in them. He is really enjoying showing you around on this tour.
The evenings get a little cooler here and I love to relax with a good book on the balcony off my bedroom.
I can’t wait to start carving pumpkins and buying mums. I truly love this time of year and look forward to carrying on all of my fall traditions. Thanks so much for stopping by and I can’t wait for you to see Paula’s home on Wednesday. She is beyond talented and inspiring in so many ways.
