Welcome to MW Designs! It’s that time again! The spring #ORC has begun! My husband’s study is the room I have chosen to transform over the next eight weeks. I envision this space to feel cozy, masculine, rustic, and modern! A man’s dream spot to get away to and relax! He deserves this makeover more than anyone because he does so much for us.
What is the one room challenge?
The One Room Challenge is a widely anticipated biannual event. It was started by Linda Weinstein of Calling It Home, and the media sponsor is @apartmenttherapy. Each round, 20 featured designers will transform a space and document the process while sharing their sources and advice. Many guest participants will join the fun and also transform a room in 8 weeks. This challenge has so much interior design inspiration, ideas, and so much encouragement.
MOOD BOARD:
I always create a design board to visualize what a room will look like when completed.
I want Joe’s study to flow with the rest of our home but have a more masculine feel. It’s in our basement, and there is little to no natural light, so we plan to keep it very cozy. My plans for now, which could change day to day, are to turn this room into a traditional, modern, and rustic space. I will achieve this look by adding warm layers with texture and different styles of art & Furniture.
