What is the One Room Challenge?

The One Room Challenge is a widely anticipated biannual event. It was started by Linda Weinstein of Calling It Home, and the media sponsor is Better Homes & Gardens. Each round, 20 featured designers will transform a space and document the process while sharing their sources and advice. Many guest participants will join the fun and also transform a room in 8 weeks. This challenge has so much interior design inspiration, ideas, and so much encouragement.
ORC WEEK 6 & 7 UPDATE:
This week I made a lot of progress on Madeleine’s room. First, we installed the adorable, whimsical swing. I found the kit at Walmart and added some personal touches to it to blend with her room. I already owned the neutral polka dot fabric and recovered the existing cushion seat. I used the ties I made for Madeleine’s crib to add a bit of frill to the swing. I sprayed the hanging hardware pure gold by Rustoleum to match the curtain rod.

The light
Here is a sneak peek of the light and the medallion! The medallion was painted Boothbay Gray to match the ceiling and the light look adds a modern touch to her traditional room. I want to save the final shot for the reveal next week.
