It’s crazy to think that 4th of July is a mere week away (where has this year gone)? Growing up, this holiday was always one of my favorites, spending time on the lake with friends, BBQ, fireworks, and soaking up plenty of summer sun. I truly cherish those special memories.

This past week my dad was in town and this made for the perfect time to create an impromptu, festive porch party! It’s not everyday that we get family from out of town. Prior to dinner, I wanted to spend time catching up, so I opted to make a relaxed, simple party, using snacks I already had in the house. To add festivity, I decorated with colorful bowls, cups, and straws I found at Target and Home Goods/TJ Maxx.
I’m not sure what it is about the Pellegrino Sparkling Water, but those bottles just make a party feel fancy. Of course the gentlemen had beverages, but this pregnant lady needed to feel included. I found my drinking glasses at Home Goods and could not wait to use them. Adding a quirky straw and lime was an easy touch to add color to the party.
Something salty, something sweet, can satisfy two cravings at once while waiting for the BBQ to finish. I don’t have a lot of 4th of July decor, so I added a few flags, colorful fruit, and my dad’s favorite, Twizzlers. All of these simple touches were a perfect way to give that festive look, and I was able to use my recent finds.

Thank you! The boys are camera shy and wanted nothing to do with it, haha:)
