Top Beauty Picks for 2018
Foundations:
Hourglass Stick• this is such a great full coverage foundation that is easily applied with a brush or beauty sponge.
Charlotte Tilbury Foundation & Concealer• this is a product that we have been using for about four months now and have fallen in love. If you’re in the search for a light to medium foundation, that can be built up; you must try this. We have applied the foundation with a brush and sponge, and both apply seamlessly. The concealer has a hydrating eye cream end that you use first and then on top apply the lightweight concealer. Your eyes will instantly be lifted and brightened!
Foundation Tools:
Morphe M439 Brush• we have used this foundation brush for years! It’s dense, soft and only $14.00
Real Techniques Sponge• we love using sponges for our foundation, especially during the summer to give a dewy look. There are many brands, but this is a great brand to try because it is only $6.00.
Bronzers:
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder• if you are looking for a summer glow without looking orangey, hourglass has lots of shades depending on how tan you want to look. We are pretty fair skin in the winter and use the “Radiant Bronze Light”.
Chanel Bronzer• yes, we know Chanel is a high-end makeup brand, but like we always say, “you get what you pay for.” Products last for a long time and give a natural sun-kissed look.
Eyebrows:
Anastasia brow gel• we have talked about this in the past and still have the same opinion. It is worth every penny, lasts a long time, and is like super glue for your brows.
Anastasia Brow Wiz• there are two pencil tips that Anastasia offers for their brow pencils, we love both, but the smaller tip shown above makes a more natural looking brow.
Eyeliner:
Kat Von D Tatoo Liner• if you love a sleek winged cat eye, look no further. This liner seriously does not move once applied and it’s easy to use. With an eye makeup remover it comes off very quickly, so no worries. We buy the color “Trooper” for a true dark black.
Smashbox Kohn Liner• this is precise waterproof crayon liner with a built-in sharpener in the lid. Michelle uses this daily in “Raven” which is a gray-black color.
Mascara:
Chanel• I believe we both have tried every mascara on the market and end up not satisfied with the results, except for Le Volume de Chanel. We hate that we love it so much because a tube honestly doesn’t last that long and it is a little pricey.
Eyeshadow:
Jaclyn Hill Palette• we have followed Jaclyn Hill for years on YouTube. She is such a talented makeup artist, and we usually love everything she recommends. So we were excited to get our hands on her eyeshadow, and it did not disappoint. Great pigmentation and any beautiful color you would ever need in one palette!!
Lipstick & Lipglosses:
Hourglass• this lipstick is so creamy and the shades will work for so many skin types. Now, this isn’t a lipstick that is meant to last all day, it’s more for the person that just want’s a nice everyday shade.
Chanel• we are a fan of many Chanel products and their glosses & lipsticks are no different. The glosses come in so many beautiful colors and have a perfect amount of shine. It also doesn’t hurt that the packaging is always so beautiful.
Laura Mercier• so many beautiful shades to choose from in the Laura Mercier line of glosses. They apply so smooth and buttery, not sticky at all, and a tube will last you quite a while.
Lip Moisturizer:
Lanolin• this is the most random thing that we use, haha! When Keli first had Ashlyn, she listened to another blogger talk about using Lanolin nipple cream for chapped lips. I mean, it makes complete sense, but it would of never even crossed our minds. Well, lets just say it’s hands down the best we have ever used. One tube lasts forever, and it leaves a beautiful shine on your lips. You have seriously got to give it a try and then let us know what you think. 🙂
Blush:
Chanel• we have used this blush for years in the color “malice.” It’s such a pretty coral shade with great pigmentation. A little goes a long way!
Milani• we have talked about this blush before and still use it to this day. Our favorite color is still “Luminoso.” It’s a great dupe for Nars “orgasm”! Just a tip; you cannot be heavy handed with this blush, or you won’t like it.
Becca• we have several Becca blushes, but for a beautiful peachy pink “flower child” is a lovely choice. These blushes are a little spendy for what you get, but they do last a long time and you get your money’s worth.
