Hello, and welcome to our home! My name is Joanna and I live in New York. I am a speech-language pathologist, but I am currently taking a leave to care for my three boys. I have been interested in interior design and hosting for as long as I can remember. As a stay-at-home mom, I felt I needed to do something for myself, so I decided to go with my passion and start sharing my love for interior design and keeping a loved home!
Christmas time is my absolute favorite time of year! Keeping a loved home for my husband and boys is a passion of mine, and I try to make every day special for each of them! Although it is stressful, each day can be magical with a little bit of creativity.
Foyer
In our foyer, our 11+ foot real Christmas tree stands tall. This tree is trimmed with traditional colors, with a black and white mix. These ornaments are also special pieces to our family; births, handprints, vacations, milestones, etc.
I love seeing the faces on my boys each time a tree goes up or a nutcracker is added! I hope they take all of these memories with them wherever they go!
Half Bathroom
Kitchen/Living Room
Our kitchen and living room are very close to one another, and this area is the heart of our home.
We have our “boys’ tree” standing tall in this area. This tree is trimmed with special pieces of anything we’d like to keep a memory of, such as a new sport, a favorite snack, birthday themes and Halloween costume ornaments.
Each year the boys receive one or two new ornaments to add to this tree.
Our mantle is decorated with a pretty garland, pearls, bows, and our traditional Christmas plaid stockings.
Dining Room
In our dining room is where I keep our blue and white tree. This tree is more elegant and classic. It’s trimmed with velvet bows, pretty ribbons, and typically I hang my Swarovski and Wedgwood ornaments on this tree.
Next to our tree sits our beautiful Nativity. It is very special to us and constantly reminds us of the season’s true meaning.
Second-Floor Foyer
Located in the second-floor foyer stands our 7-foot pencil tree. This is “mommy’s” tree.
It has my favorite colors, tons of bows, and pretty ornaments. With all of the boys in this house, it was a must!
Boys’ Rooms
In each of our boys’ rooms, we have 4-foot trees decorated to coordinate with their rooms. They give off such a special and warm glow, and the boys love them very much!
My favorite Christmas tradition would be getting the kids in their Christmas pajamas, loading up the car, stopping for hot chocolate, and driving around all cozy and snug to see all of the magical homes around us!
There are so many reminders that come to light during Christmas time. The reminders of family, blessings, and so much more. It’s my absolute favorite time, and I look forward to the craziness each and every year!
From our home to yours! Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year.
