Twelve Days of Christmas Tour
I’m not sure what you would call my “style” or if I really have one! I suppose you could say I love primitive, vintage, eclectic, refurbished or all the above. On a rare occasion, I even throw in a piece of modern. If anything matches, it’s a sheer coincidence.
Christmas is very special to me. I usually start decorating before Thanksgiving (I know some don’t agree) but I like to enjoy it for a while once it’s all decorated.
I collect old Christmas stockings and have a favorite that reminds me of my Dad every time I hang it. It has his initials on it, JW. I even think it looks like his handwriting.
I bought this cabinet from a good friend and used it to display some of my smaller Christmas items.
I love finding old Christmas stuff in the original boxes such as tinsel, bulbs, reflectors, lights, etc. When it’s not Chrismas, it’s used to display old toys.
I love ornaments and lost all my childhood ornaments in a fire we had in the original farmhouse that was here when we bought the farm.
I had three antique ornaments in particular that hung on every Christmas tree I could ever remember. These ornaments were a matched set: a Santa, a dog, and a cat.
I have searched for approximately 20 years in antique stores trying to replace them to no avail. Needless to say, I have found many other vintage Christmas “pretty’s.”
The white wooden farmhouse was a school project of Holly’s made by her and her dad.

My dining room table has a vintage Purina chicken feeder filled with antique ornaments for the centerpiece.

The little vintage boots are another obsession of mine; they were used as candy containers.
The kitchen tree is sitting on an old sugar tin to add more height.
We found the blue wood burning stove in a shop in Poplar Bluff, MO, and I just had to have it. My husband’s mom has always had one of these stoves and still cooks on it from time to time.

Here are two of my favorite German Bells, one from Holly and one is Nellie’s handprint. My husband, Terry taught Holly how to make these when she was very young and it has been a tradition ever since.

On one of my door frames, you can see handmade Christmas cards that I believe were all school projects. A few were even made by me back in the day. There are some made by my son, Derek, my daughter, Holly and my granddaughter, Nellie. The bag was a gift handpainted by Nellie at age 5.
I truly love these.
The paper chain garland on the tree brings back childhood memories.
We have had English Mastiffs for over 30 years. We currently have three males, OH MY!
A small Christmas touch in the guest bathroom.
An old aluminum tree & color wheel makes the office feel like Christmas.
The Farm at Nighttime
We always put the wreaths on the windows with lights.
I spotted the antique Santa, sleigh, and reindeer in the basement at an auction and knew I wasn’t going home without them!
This piece on the front porch is another old chicken feeder.
We inherited the old one-horse-open sleigh when we bought the farm.
I keep candles burning in the windows year-round for a welcoming, cozy feel.
The old bicycle was found on our 100-mile yard sale hunt this summer. When I asked the teen about it, he said it was his grandpa’s bike. How can you do that?? So I brought it home for a good resting place.
We make these swags every year with cedar, berries, and holly gathered from the farm.
Our Flemish Giant Rabbit, Wilbur, got his own swag too.
The chicken house window even got a wreath this year.
My greatest Christmas wish is that my children and grandchildren will always be home and look forward to Christmas at the farm.
A couple of newer traditions that I enjoy are hearing the kids talk about what their mischievous elf did the night before. They truly believe this and it is so fun hearing their stories.
We also decided a few years back instead of buying gifts for the adults to take a family vacation. BEST idea ever!
It should be more about what’s in your ❤️ and not what’s in your hand.
The most important part of Christmas is spending time with family and reminiscing the memories of the ones no longer with us.

Lisa, we had the very same Santa, sleigh and reindeer that is on your front porch in the late fifties and early sixties. Really brought back memories seeing it again. I’m sure anyone who visits sees something they can relate to in a very special way. A wonderful Christmas home!
Lisa your home is Christmas! My most favorite is your door frame of cards you have saved over time. I do the same of my children! I think it’s so special that you save them. There are so many touches in your home that make it so warm and inviting for the holidays. I can’t agree with your more about a trip for Christmas! As soon as my children are old enough and we can start new traditions we will be doing this! Merry Merry Christmas!
